Cultura 2000 Programme

eCAM - European Catalogue of Accessible Museums is a project introduced by three European countries within Cultura 2000 programme that represents the only planning and financing tool for Community actions and bring out a  cultural space common to European countries facilitating  cooperation among cultural operators and bodies of membership countries.

The programme aims to bring out the cultural difference and the development of new expression form  and to promote the circulation of artists, authors and cultural operators and of their works. Peculiar importance is addressed to the exploitation of common European heritage and to the know-how diffusion relating to its preservation and protection.

 

eCAM - European Catalogue of Accessible Museums Project

eCAM - European Catalogue of Accessible Museums is founded on the data that in Italy, as in other European countries, some museums have become accessible to disabled; anyway there is an unhomogeinity of information, publishing and cataloguing of accessible works of different kind present in the museums for the disabled.
In particular, the project propose to allow the access to the culture for disabled people; to awaken the cultural operators in order to create an interdisciplinary and international net of cultural operators that study the good through the development of new tools and models.

First objective of  eCAM is the realization of a portal prototype freely accessible on-line, that offers some services like: faq, forum, news, etc..


Expected results

The expected results are the increase of the fruition and accessibility for disabled thaks to cataloguing will regard all the " works " accessible presents in the museums of countries participants and to put on a diet the portal prototype that can be taken as reference for other inherent initiatives the sharing of the artistic heritage of the European countries.  
Portal finality is to be functional to the knowledge of the historical and artistic heritage from the disabled. Particularly in the news section will be indicated: 

general information related to the accessible and accessible museums in which the individualized works are, ie: schedule of opening and closing, guided tour, didactic activity, etc;
shows and events related to the accessible runs;  
new applications and perceptive and interpretative methodologies of the accessible works;
new adopted for sightless and hypo-sighted;
activities realized by accessible museums as: publication of catalogues, illustrative material of the services and the events, projects and collaborations.
